After enjoying breakfast at camp, you bid farewell to your hosts and begin the final leg of your 3 day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour as you start the journey back toward Marrakech. Before leaving the Sahara, you might visit a nomadic Berber family nearby – sharing a cup of mint tea and gaining insight into their traditional way of life. As you depart Merzouga, you travel west through stark desert plains that soon give way to the greenery of the Draa Valley.

In the Draa Valley, a ribbon of palm groves and ancient kasbahs lines the meandering river, creating a vivid contrast against the surrounding arid hills. You pass through rustic Berber villages and oasis towns before heading up and over the Anti-Atlas Mountains. By midday, you arrive in Ouarzazate, nicknamed the “Hollywood of Morocco” for its Atlas Film Studios and cinematic desert backdrops. Here, you can take a short break to visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah or simply enjoy the view of this famous movie-set city before continuing on.
