The journey crosses the scenic High Atlas Mountains, which connect Marrakech with Ouarzazate. Throughout this day tour, you'll enjoy multiple stops to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains and explore traditional Berber villages. Upon arrival at the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, you'll visit its ancient and renowned kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After some free time for lunch, the trip continues to Ouarzazate, where you’ll visit the famous film studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah. We then return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou
After breakfast, your driver from Sahara Camel Trips will pick you up at your hotel/riad at 8:30 a.m. to begin the day trip from Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou, traveling through the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m). Along the way, you'll enjoy stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and pass through authentic small Berber villages, with breaks for photo opportunities. Then, you'll head to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. This iconic fortified village has been the backdrop for numerous films, such as Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara starring Penélope Cruz.
You'll have free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
The excursion continues to Ouarzazate, where you'll visit the Oscar Atlas Film Studio, the largest film studio in Morocco, and Taourirt Kasbah, another heritage site. Afterward, you'll travel back through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where you'll arrive in the late afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel/riad, marking the end of your Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou adventure.
